Will the Apple Watch Make People Healthier?
http://www.livescience.com/50097-apple-watch-people-healthier.html

In this article written by Rachael Rettner, it explains the advantages and disadvantages to the new Apple Watch device coming soon. The article explains how this device has the ability to make people across the world exercise more and become aware of their health habits.  A health professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Sherry Pagoto says, "I think the big question will be, for whom will this be motivating or change behavior." There are many advantages for this new device, for example, the device sets goals based upon the users past behavior, opposed to having the user set their own goals. This will make the goals more achievable and realistic for the specific user.  Some disadvantages in the article include that the device may be giving false hope towards the user. For instance, the user may think that the number of calories lost that day may seem like a lot, they could stop exercising. The article gives insight from experts in the field like Sherry Pagoto, Dr. Mitesh S. Patel, an assistant professor of medicine and health care management at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and the author Rachael Rettner.
I have been hearing about this product for a long time now, and this article gives a lot of information I needed. In my life, I am constantly being lazy by watching TV or playing video games so this device could help me to use my time more productively. Also obesity is a huge problem in the United States, so this device could really help to get people more active. This is a very innovative idea, though it might not be as useful as people think.
This article did an excellent job in previewing some of the pros and cons to the new device. Rettner, the author, uses great details in describing what to expect in the new product. For example, "The Apple Watch is, well, a watch, means that the device may fit more easily into a person's wardrobe than devices that need to be clipped to a belt or worn as a bracelet." I think it could have done a better job talking about the durability of the product, or whether it can withstand rain or snow. Also, Rettner could have touched upon the price range or date of its arrival to stores. Overall I really like the article.

Ned did a good job of presenting his topic in the beginning of his critique. I was able to discover his opinion of the article and what the purpose of the article was without getting too much information which I liked. Ned also did a great job presenting the information from the article in a clear and thoughtful style. After I had finished reading the first paragraph, I had an excellent understanding of the subject discussed and wanted discover what other opinions he had on the topic as well. Lastly, I really liked how he gave the reader background information on the device. The device has not been released and not many people know its use so it was good that Ned told the reader what the product does and how it can be useful and this was very helpful that he gave me the information so I could understand the topic better. It is a interesting topic and he did a good job explaining the advancements the product can bring to our society. However, I did not like how he cited every paragraph from the article. This made it difficult for the reader to follow along as it may disrupt the progression of his response. Another suggestion I would give Ned would be to give an example words that he did not understand and he had to look up. I’m curious as to what kind of vocabulary he learned. After reading Ned’s response to the article, I was able to learn a lot about the new Apple watch and how it can be very useful and bring new advancements to our society and also how the watch can affect how ordinary people live their lives. To conclude, I believe Ned did a fantastic job on teaching us about the new Apple watch and how it can be very useful and bring new advancements to our society and also how the watch can affect how ordinary people live their lives.

This review of the article Will the Apple Watch Make People Healthier? by Ned is very good. I liked how he explained the pros and cons of the Apple watch. For example, he talked about how it encourages people to exercise, but it also can make them not exercise. Another thing I liked is the fact that he included how important keeping healthy is because health is a big issue that many Americans face. A third thing I liked about Ned's review is his use of language. I thought the review was well written, although one thing I didn't like was his many grammar mistakes. Another thing that could be better is he could have given a little more detail in his second paragraph. Overall, though, I thought this review by Ned was really good. I always thought technology was bad for you physical health, but I guess this new Apple Watch can be good for you health.

Ned’s review on the article “Will the Apple Watch Make People Healthier?” was enjoyable to read. I was very surprised to learn a new form of technology could actually inspire us to get off of the couch and get active. I would think any form of technology would make us want to stay home and use it. I enjoyed how Ned related the article to his personal life because it was something I could relate to as well, and it also allowed me to realize what an impact this watch could have. I enjoyed how Ned included some of the article contributors in his review to support this thought. I thought that Ned’s topic sentence was nice and clean as well, and made it very easy to understand what the article was supposed to be about. However what I thought Ned could improve on, was maybe including more details from the text to support his review and help us readers to see how important the watch really is. I also wish Ned explained the importance of the missing parts of the article and explained how that information would’ve benefited us had it been included in the article. However, overall I really liked Ned’s review. It gave us another view on the new apple watch and how it will impact the world.

Will the Apple Watch Make People Healthier?

This was an interesting as well as extremely relatable article. In Ned’s current event, there are many things that he does well. For example, throughout his current event, Ned does a good job of identifying and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the new Apple Watch. Also, Ned does a nice job of incorporating quotes and opinions of professionals to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the product. Ned then provides analysis on the quotes, which provides the reader with an even deeper understanding of the professionals’ opinion. Finally, Ned does a good job of connecting the article to his own life. By incorporating a connection to his own life, it makes the reader think about how the issue affects them, which makes them more engaged in the reading.
Although Ned does many things well, there is always room for improvement. For instance, in his current event it may be better if he added suggestions he had that would make the Apple Watch more beneficial to the users. Also, Ned should maintain a consistent font size throughout his current event and most importantly, have a proper MLA citation at the top.
Finally, I was very shocked by this article. Three years ago, I received a Nike Fuel Band for Christmas. This product is very similar to the new Apple Watch. What is shocking to me is that over a period of about three and a half years, there has not been that great of a technological advancement in the area of exercise and health monitoring. Apple, Microsoft, Nike and several other companies have many enormous technological advancements in other areas. Why is exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle the areas in which we are not as strong in? This should be one of our strongest aspects of our life.

Ned did a great job on his current event. He gives examples of insight from other outside sources like Sherry Patago and he gives examples of goals that the new apple watch will bring humans around the world. Calorie loss and general health will go up with the new features of this watch, and Ned picked a great topic to write about. I wished Ned had given some statistics about the watch. Recently, the google glass line has gone under “new design focus” and I wonder if the apple watch might get some criticism at first. Hopefully apple can monitor it’s product. There was also a few punctuation and grammar mistakes that could have been easily fixable. The one thing that I still wonder about is how the world will respond to the “next big product” apple brings off its production line. All in all, I think Ned did a great job on his current event.

In Ned’s review on the article, “Will the Apple Watch Make People Healthier?” he explained the new Apple Watch. Throughout the article Ned achieved many aspects in making the current event good. Ned did a great job with explaining and summarizing the base of the Apple Watch and how it will help the people who buy it. He also explained the good and bads of this watch, for example how it could help people get motivated, but at the same time may stop some people from exercising. This way viewers were able to understand the pros and cons of this product. Ned did a really great job in adding quotes from the article, to help to reader understand the product and what people are saying about it. Although Ned’s current event article was proposed very well, there are some things that he could have done better. Ned could have probably explained a little more on the watch, like the background of it. Lastly Ned could have explained the weakness of this article a little more. I was pleased though to learn a lot about the Apple Watch from this article because I always hear many people talking about it, but not it has been explained to me a little more. Overall Ned’s current event article was carried out very well.

I enjoyed reading Ned’s review of the article “Will the apple watch make people Healthier?” I enjoyed this review for three reasons. The first reason is that the review was short, therefore it is easier to comprehend. The next reason is Ned used lots of expert opinion and quotations directly from the article which enhanced what he was saying. Also he did a good job explaining the pros and cons of the watch. For example, he mentioned that it could get people motivated, but once they reached their goals stop exercising. Although there were goods there were also two bad aspects of the watch. I would have liked to learn more about the watch in his review, like how it compares to a normal watch etc. One last thing he could tighten up was on his grammatical mistakes. Finally, I learned from his review that the apple watch can help one get fit by motivating them, I had always thought that it just told time. Overall, reading Ned’s review of the article, helped me to better understand the new Apple Watch.

In particular, I how he explained the pros and cons of the Apple watch. Another thing I liked is the fact that he included how important keeping healthy is because health is a big issue that many Americans face. I was able to discover his opinion of the article and what the purpose of the article was without getting too much information which I liked. I specifically liked how he mentioned the pros and cons of the watch, like when explaining the effect it has on your exercise. I really liked how he gave the reader background information on the device. The device has not been released and not many people know its use so it was good that Ned told the reader what the product does and how it can be useful, which again is another example of how he used useful information for the reader. Lastly, I really enjoyed how he incorporated facts on how important it is to stay healthy, and how much of a problem this is in America. One thing that would have helped his review would have been to keep a constant font and size. He also could have checked over his work once, considering the grammar errors that were throughout his work. But when reading I did enjoy learning about a new advancement in technology and how it can be very useful and bring new advancements to our society and also how the watch can affect how ordinary people live their lives. But I truly enjoyed reading this article and I think Ned did a great job writing it.
